The local public transportation system may seem daunting at first but it really is quite easy to get a grasp of. The secret is just to start riding the
combis (vans) and
microbuses and you'll quickly figure out the routes. The main destinations of each bus is listed on the front window but you can always ask the driver and he will usually inform you of the best place to disembark. Fares are 5-8 pesos for pretty much anywhere in Zihua, throughout surrounding neighborhoods, and even to Ixtapa. The main bus stop is between the central Mercado and Elektra, on the corner of Benito Juarez and Morelos Boulevard but you can board a bus anywhere along its route.
